University of Waterloo VS Purdue
Hello,
I'm about to finish my bachelors degree in the US in may and planning to start grad school in the fall. I have 2 offers that I'm deciding between. One is a 2 year MSc Physics ( Quantum information ) from University of Waterloo and the other is a PhD in Physics from Purdue. I want to focus in Quantum computing and Quantum information Science. My main goal would be to conduct research in Quantum technologies in the future probably in the private sector.
Both the offers are fully funded with a monthly stipend. For Waterloo, I have been accepted into the laser cooled trapped ion group. I think for Purdue I would be able to select my research group once I get there. I know the Waterloo is better known for Quantum Computing but I would like to get your thoughts on which choice would be best for me.
I am international student in the US, will need to apply for a study permit and visa if I go to Canada where as for the US I already have the Visa.
Thank you in advance!
