Future Improvements, responding to MASSIVE FEEDBACK - COMPETITIVE & MORE
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the FragPunk community and FragPunk Hub for the comprehensive feedback (https://www.reddit.com/r/PlayFragPunk/comments/1h4dx4x/massive\_feedback\_competitive\_more/) you’ve provided! Your insights are invaluable as we continue to shape the game. Here, we address several major suggestions concerning competitive gameplay that have been highlighted recently.
Suggestion 1: Custom Games Options — Introduce a “game settings” option on the custom game menu where it says “select which cards you want to play with” and there are buttons to select/deselect individually and “remove all” or “add all”.
We understand how important it is for competitive players to control game settings, particularly for card selection. We're actively working on the ability to customize these options for training, scrims, and tournaments.
This feature is actively being developed and is expected to be included in the global launch version. We appreciate your patience and will keep you updated as we get closer to rolling it out!
Suggestion 2: Spectator Mode & Replay — Implement a spectator mode and replay mode with extensive options.
We recognize the importance of providing viewers and shoutcasters with more control over how they experience matches. In the current version, we’ve included basic features like free cam movement and HUD customization. However, we plan to expand these options further, allowing for additional customization, such as adjusting team names and HUD settings. We’re excited for you to see our improved spectator experience based on your feedback and will continue to develop it!
Suggestion 3: In-game Tournament
At the moment, we are still evaluating and confirming the best way to implement such a system. We understand your enthusiasm and are working to find a solution that addresses the demand while ensuring the game remains balanced and fair. We appreciate your patience as we continue to explore this possibility!
Suggestion 4: Aim assist/Crossplay
We hear you on the crossplay and aim assist concerns. Balancing input devices across competitive play is crucial for fairness.
To address this, we are exploring ways to set independent parameters for aim assist when PC and console players compete. In certain modes, crossplay may no longer be supported to ensure fairness and a balanced experience for players on different devices.
Suggestion 5: Rebinds zoom — Enable customization options to rebind the zoom button. Also, start guns without zooming in or making a setting for them not to start zooming in.
The zoom rebind feature has already been developed, and future updates will include more customization options, allowing players to adjust controls and settings according to their preferences.
Suggestion 6: Player disconnected — If a player disconnects, a low-difficulty bot could fill in, providing tactical information until the player rejoins and takes over.
We recognize that having a disconnected player can negatively impact gameplay, especially in competitive matches. While introducing bots as replacements is one possible solution, we are carefully considering how this might affect the experience, especially when the player reconnects. This is still in the evaluation stage, and we are exploring other solutions to improve this scenario and ensure fairness.
Suggestion 7: SMBB/IBMM — Implement IBMM (Input Based Matchmaking) / SBMM (Skill Based Matchmaking) in ranked. At least let controller players only play against other controller players and the same for mouse and keyboard players.
Currently, console players have the option to match only with other console players, which helps ensure a more balanced environment for different input devices.
We’ve already implemented skill-based matchmaking (SBMM), although we haven’t communicated this clearly to players. I apologize for any confusion. We are continuing to refine these matchmaking systems to deliver the best competitive experience possible.
Suggestion 8: Mirrored Stickers — Add a mirror effect to the stickers added to weapons.
We understand the desire for more customization, especially when it comes to weapon aesthetics. Adding a mirror effect to stickers is a great idea, and we’re happy to share that in the global launch version. We will offer enhanced customization options, including the ability to apply stickers to both sides of the weapon, giving players more flexibility to create the perfect look.
Suggestion 9: Solo/Duo Q & Stacks — Solo/duo only queue for ranked and/or 5 stacks can only play against other 5 stacks
We understand the concerns about higher-ranked players competing against solo or duo players and the impact of stacked teams in ranked matches. Discussions are ongoing regarding this feedback as we seek out measures to ensure fairness while catering to player preferences. Your feedback is crucial as we continue to refine the matchmaking system.
We are extremely grateful for the passion and thoughtful suggestions from the FragPunk community. Your feedback is guiding us in making the game better, and we’re committed to delivering an experience that is fair, competitive, and fun for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being an essential part of the FragPunk journey!
