Billing

I want to join Planet Fitness but was shocked when they wanted my banking account information. I asked if I could just pay in full for the year with my credit card, and they still wanted my banking information. My question is; is there anyway around giving up the banking information? With data breaches being what they are, I’m surprised they need this.
