Paper submission question
Hi guys! I have a quick question and I believe someone here will be able to help me out. I submitted a manuscript to a Elsevier journal and the editor suggested transfer to another journal. The suggested transfer was not on my top choices so I wanted to reject the transfer offer and start a new submission to another Elsevier journal of my choice. However my advisor told me to not reject the transfer and keep it as a second option in case my new submission trial is also rejected. My sense tells me that I should not start a new submission to an Elsevier journal without firstly reject the previous transfer option. I tried to find any information about this before going ahead but I couldn't find anything to convince my advisor. Does anyone here have any experience with this or knows exactly if this would be allowed or not? Thanks a lot!!
