Calling everything “autistic”

This seriously needs to stop. I feel like this trend really picked up Soren like 6 years ago?

“In autistic detail”

“What a nerd that guy must be autistic” “So boring must be autistic”

“Software dev? Clearly that’s for autistic people”

Guys none of that has anything to do with autism. I am not someone diagnosed with it, but I know people who are. They aren’t boring. They are usually way more interesting than regular people. If you run into someone smarter than you, you don’t have to get defensive and imply they must have some kind of defect. Many people are just smart. It’s a major insult to people who are actually autistic. A major realization I’ve had in life is that dumb people generally hate smart people in a lot of cases, just for existing.
