I'm in a book club, and we were discussing our favorite ways to read books. A couple of people said they prefer audiobooks, and a few of them said they prefer to read on a Kindle. I was the only one to say that I personally feel like physical books are the best, and one of the members called me "ableist." Their reasoning was that "some people have dyslexia or ADHD or are blind and HAVE to use audiobooks."

They then proceeded to tell me that their mother is blind and is also a member of a book club and accused me of believing that she shouldn't be allowed to be in a book club because she cannot read physical books and has to listen to the audiobook version instead.
