Potential new treatments/cures for Parkinson’s disease and trials to keep an eye on
Hello everyone, my mom was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease a few months ago. I had a very difficult time accepting it but now that she has started treatment, I am focusing all my energy towards that.
Everyone knows that this is a progressive disease that doesn’t have a cure yet. However, as I researched more about the disease, I’ve become increasingly hopeful about a cure sometime in the near future.
Therefore, I wanted to create a list of potential treatments and trials that I am hopeful about. I have two reasons for this post. One for people who are recently diagnosed and aren’t aware of these trials and secondly for people who are more knowledgeable than me to further discuss below which trials and treatments they are most looking forward to. Also, any other trials that I might have missed and that you guys are monitoring.
Below is a list of some clinical trials I have been following, please feel free to discuss and voice your opinions.
(The following list is in no particular order)
lixisenatide, Exanatide, Ozempic (semaglutide), buntanetap, ambroxol, Inhibikase therapeutics (Risvodetinib), Ne3107, NLX-112, sitagliptin, NodThera’s NT-0796, lecanemab, BIIB122, Bial- BIA 28-6156 trial, Gain therapeutics trial, (tavapadon) cerevel therapeutics, Memantine, lactobacillus acidophilus
