The baby ruined my daughter’s sleepover!!
I have four kids: a 13-year-old girl, two 3-year-old boys and a 3-week-old baby boy.
The baby disrupted my daughter's sleepover. She was having a sleepover with her best friend, who is a boy, and the baby started crying while we were in our bedroom with him. He kept crying, and she became annoyed, so she came upstairs and told us to quiet him down. Normally, she is nice when he's crying, but this time was different, probably because it was her first sleepover and she didn't want it to be ruined. She left, and we tried to calm him down, but he kept crying. She returned 30 minutes later and said that he was too loud. We explained to her that babies cry and don't care about anything else but what they need. She left the room and came back 15 minutes later, saying that she couldn't watch the movie because he was too loud. My husband got annoyed with her and said if she wanted the baby to be quiet so badly, she had to take care of him. She then took the baby, and when he was in her arms, he stopped crying. She gave us a death stare and returned the baby to us.
About 9 minutes later, he started crying again and refused to take the bottle or anything. She came back and said that we obviously forgot how to calm a newborn baby down. She took the baby out of the room, and he stopped crying. After about 30 minutes, we went downstairs and saw that she and her best friend were on the couch watching the movie, with the baby laying on her chest. I told her I would take the baby back, but when I picked him up, he started crying again, so I placed him back on her chest. Her best friend then said that he's just going to sleep because he didn't want to hear the baby cry anymore (he has two older siblings, so he's the baby). She looked at me and said, "Thanks for having another baby and ruining my sleepover."
I feel guilty because I wasn't able to calm him down, and now she didn't finish the movie because he was crying.
