The league's name (In French) is WRONG!
WRRRRRRONG I TELLLZ YA!! AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
*cough*
Allow me to elaborate :
There is no such thing as "Women's Hockey". The sport is called Hockey irrespective of who is playing it. Unless we want to start calling it "Children's hockey" when our kids play. It is a Women's League of Professional Hockey. In English, this causes no problems that I'm aware of ; 'Professional' and 'Women' are both placed in such a way that they can both qualify either 'Hockey' OR league.
In French, however, the nouns and adjectives are written in such a way as to make it a Professional League of Women's Hockey. This is both incorrect and very mildly sexist by implying that what they are playing isn't REAL hockey but a "women's" version.
Probably not worth changing the name now, but it has bothered me off and on for two years and I felt the need to exorcise this opinion tonight.
I'll be glad to entertain dissenting opinions, but I do require cake.
