Admin forbearance through....January? For everyone?

My coworker had a wild call with MOHELA and I'm posting it here for insight. She's on PSLF and an IDR plan. She had no hiccups going back into repayment. She logs into StudentAid and sees her loans are in forbearance, then sees the same on MOHELA. She calls the MOHELA rep who tells her that, due to all the glitches returning to payment, everyone is going on admin forbearance until January and this period will count toward PSLF tracker.

Is this a Christmas miracle? I haven't come across something like this.

Edit: just want to clarify that my coworker has had no issues with her account. She’s not waiting for forgiveness right now, her repayment plan is good, she has no consolidations pending - this literally came out of the blue and they’re refunding her payments.

Edit 2: Based on the responses here, the Forbearance Fairies at MOHELA are placing accounts into forbearance through December. They does not seem to be much of a pattern to which accounts get forbearance.

I want to offer a huge thank you to everyone who shared their experiences; this sub is my go-to for PSLF information and my informal support group. <3
