Bladder rapidly fills with crystal clear urine several times before finally settling down
As the title says, at times, my bladder rapidly fills with large volumes of dilute, crystal clear urine, seemingly out of nowhere. During these episodes, I need to run to the toilet every 20-40 minutes. Once I've done that about 3 or 4 times, it'll probably settle down for a good while. This is very disruptive to my quality of life. It does not seem to depend on what I eat or drink - at least, not in an immediate way. I can eat and drink nothing, and it still might happen.
To me, it feels like it might be something hormonal, nutritional, or maybe an electrolyte imbalance. If I get a migraine, this kind of urinary frequency is often one of the symptoms (or warning signs), but it is not only tied to my migraines.
Diabetes mellitus has been ruled out, but otherwise I have no real leads.
The urologist seemed like a sensible place to start looking for answers, but apparently that was the wrong call; it seems if you don't have a UTI, kidney stone, or prostate, they just automatically diagnose you with OAB... Other than a dipstick test, I don't really feel like they excluded anything other than a UTI.
The dipstick test DID find trace amounts of intact blood, which has been par for the course for at least a decade. But doctors never seem very concerned about that.
Now I am wondering what my next move should be... if it's worth even going to someone else, like an endocrinologist. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced my symptoms, and what it wound up being. Reading about diabetes insipidus gave me some food for thought, but I don't think I have the overwhelming thirst that comes with that.
