What is something that used to be a huge plot twist or fresh idea that has lost its charm over time? (Carnephelia’s Curse Is Never Ending)

I was reading and this thought came to mind. The market is so saturated now even when compared to 5 years ago that new ideas that work get old very quickly. I assume that’s why some people don’t enjoy some ‘classics’ or older manhwa that made the medium more popular.

Two that come to mind is the ML also having the memories of his past life with the FML and the original heroine actually being evil.
