Should I go to this "dating event"?

Alright, dating apps have been pissing me off for a long time now so I think I'm going to try this "Singles Happy Hour" even in my city. Sounds like it's mixer type thing and I've never been to one and it's being hosted by "Jigsaw Dating" which I've never heard of but I'm willing to try whatever at this point. I've read a few reviews about the even with some mixed results it seems like. My main thing is, some people are saying "Don't show up expecting to find someone just enjoy the time." Well if this is the case then there's no point in me going. If I wanted to go to a bar and have fun I'd just call up some friend and do it. Is it still worth trying? Full disclosure, I am NOT just looking to get laid, I'm too grown to play around at this point.

Any help from anyone who's done this or something like it is appreciated.
