I think Mihawk was a slave
I think Mihawk was a slave. After reading the latest SBS, I think that it's possible Mihawk was betrayed by somebody into slavery. Maybe that's why he hates the Marines so much. After all, he is called the "Marine Hunter".
One thing I noticed about Mihawk is that we never really ever see the back of his. It could be possible that he has a slavery mark similar to Hancock. Maybe that's why he constantly covers his back.
This could also be a hint for something in the future.
Another thing that is possible is that maybe..just maybe.. Crocodile could've been a slave too. Maybe that's how he and Mihawk originally met each other. I know this may sound a bit of a stretch, but it's just a theory. It could be possible he, too, may have had the mark for slavery but may have cut off his arm to remove the mark completely.
Again this too may sound a bit of a stretch but it's possible that Mihawk and Crocodile may have known each other before. I can't really be sure if they have a shared past. But maybe there's a reason Croc wanted to work with Mihawk. We know he rejected Doffy's offer but it's possible that Croc trusts Mihawk with his project utopia, just trusts him enough to work with him. They probably may have met each other in those slavery auctions.
However, I don't think both of them were betrayed by the same person. But, they may have ended up going to the same place. Which is the slave auction. It's possible that they met each other and "possible" could've bonded from there.
