Edward Lee McClain High School in Greenfield Ohio
I've had a few people request pics of the high school I attended because it's such a unique place.
Edward Lee McClain invented the patent horse collar and also made car seats and other things later on. During WW1 he made life jackets because they were a very similar design to the horse collar. He believed in education and built this school for the city because they was so good to him and his wife. He trained a lot of workers in the school and built many, many houses in town as well.
The high school has 2 gymnasiums, fully working auditorium with balcony, sound and lighting, and a giant fully functional pipe organ, a natatorium (the first high school in the US to have one), and a cafetorium.
The double marble staircase in the pictures is only used for graduation, very special ceremonies, and evacuation emergencies. Other than that it's 100% off limits for use. Replacement cost of that staircase is several million and it's made of Italian marble.
There is hundreds of pieces of art work, statues, murals, and reliefs throughout the school of all types of historic leaders, mythology, and events.
The library/learning center/museum comprises most of the center section of the third floor.
There is only 4 grades in this building, 9th through 12th.
We also have a full wood working/graphic arts/agricultural/art building adjacent to the main campus.
The building to the left in the picture of the main campus is the middle school, it houses mostly 6th through 8th grades.
