How do Asians lose weight and become thin without a high protein diet?
I feel like America has a heavy emphasis on protein when it comes to losing weight. I understand that it’s the building block for muscle growth and muscle is important for metabolism. When I watch YouTube videos of Korean diets or see it firsthand when my Asian mom/aunts diet, they emphasize more veggies/fruits and not protein. The slim Asian figure is something I prefer over muscle mommy but are these Asians at a disadvantage in the long run if they achieve that body through a low protein diet? Is it possible to become slim without that heavy emphasis on protein? (Obviously not ED skinny like some kpop idols)
