Hunting at night

Hey guys just a quick question for yall..

I’ve got a damn nice thermal scope for hunting at night, but I don’t have any thermal scanners or Nv tubes.

In your guises opinion does it make more sense to buy a decent little thermal scanners to pickup heat then switch to the scope or get a PVS14 with a helmet for constant scanning? Again this would be for mostly hunting coyotes occasionally hunting pigs and whatnot.

I see major benefits to both and major downsides to both 😂

I like the ability to navigate with the NV tubes and the constant scanning is appealing too honestly I’d like to get into the NV as well. But serious question how’s the detection range with a PVS14? I’d be getting a gen 3 for sure and mostly hunting fields and mostly in the wintertime.
