Change my mind ECOWAS should Federalize
The ECOWAS has been in existence since 1975 in that time we have faced so many difficulties and economic and militarily but we have persevered and we are stronger than ever. The ECOWAS countries particularly the coastal countries along the Gulf of Guinea and the Atlantic, have a similar culture, shared history and ideals. We also have a similar vision for the future, and this will only grow stronger over the years we have multiple projects spanning region-wide from trans-Atlantic highways to railway lines connecting major cities.
We Have a shared passport, we have more or less free movement of people and common tariffs, We do military patrols along the Gulf of Guinea together we all write the same exams (WAEC) and there are already plans for a common currency the ECO. we have shown to be able to cooperate both on economic and military projects without any issue.
I believe we should federalize to increase our global and continental regional standing and that if we do, we would become the First African Superpower.
