You must first be nihilistic to understand Nietzsche
I think I understand why many people outright disregard Nietzsche as a nihilist and beginning to understand why he said only those who are destined to be the higher man would understand what he is talking about (he's elitist in his view). You first must be nihilistic to understand him. I think nihilism is necessary to becoming the lion. It's the suppressed lion that is let loose on our mind and tears down all that we deemed meaningful, that was derived not from us but from the world, that we must now turn this lion outward into that abyss (the world) in order to become the child. I don't think many experts even could understand Nietzsche if themselves were not nihilistic in nature. You can't larp as nihilistic. nihilism is far more than a system of values. It is not learned, it is what you become by nature and circumstance, it is a feeling. A strong one that can lead to serious mental disorders. I understand now his elitism. Those destined to be the higher man feel it in their soul and have felt it their whole lives, that strong irresistible pull of the will to power.
