Baby with high sleep needs?
My LO is 3 months old now and after some trial and error I'm realizing she has very high sleep needs. I'm also a certified sleepy girl so I understand. The issue we keep running into is she'll show sleepy cues and if I don't immediately start to put her to sleep she gets increasingly crabby. When we get into the realm of overtired it's a shit show. She arches her back and flails arms while being cradled but is too worked up to calm herself when I set her down (she'll occasionally put herself to sleep independently under the right conditions). When we get into that danger zone I usually plop her in the carrier and pace around the house with some butt patting until she's asleep. I've tried to follow wake windows but they don't line up with my baby's individual needs. The recommendation is 1.5-2 hours at this age and my baby would be losing her shit at 45 mins from being so tired, less time of the environment is oversimulating. My question is when your baby starts getting overtired, whats your strategy to get them to sleep? Anyone else have a baby who needs a lot of extra sleep? How are you navigating it?
