This show has lots of water potential
Naruto had lots of potential to be an absolute banger but the story got restricted to Naruto chasing Sasuke and didn't expand on its main theme of will power and hard work over naturally gifted. Most of the characters were nothing but wasted potential. The main characters had no expansion over their individual special abilities. Kakashi the copy ninja never used his 1000 copied techniques. Gaara's sand abilities were restricted heavily to the plot armour and made him look a lot less kage level. Most of the kage's are made to look weak. Not just these many of the places are heavily unexplored or are just left out. The land of the waves arc was a banger as it explored the land and its speciality along with showing a absolute monster of a ninja villian who was a menace to everyone and also had redeeming qualities. The character setting there showed kakashi as the copy ninja as he is supposed to be and his chakra drain weakness was explored too. The trio, Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura had their moments to shine as their personality was shown clearly and in my eyes this arc is the perfect arc. The rest of the arcs kept on loosing the main theme.
I'd say that a reboot of Naruto with a differ storyline and proper expansion of the characters and the storyline would be absolutely amazing.
