Skin Infections from clinching

Just went to Thailand to train for 6 weeks I’m back home now, while I was there most of my stay was done at a very clinch heavy gym (minimum almost 1 hour of clinch a day). While I was there I got a minor skin infection that went a away quickly with antibiotics like 2 days fully gone. But near the time I had to leave I got really bad skin infection just on my face and it refused to go away even with antibiotics while I was there, it went away when I got home and started doing Epson salt baths though. I don’t know if the time I went was a little unlucky but pretty much every foreigner I talked to was at least out for 1 week due to some skin infection, a couple people were out for a whole month cause they got a real bad one. I do plan on going back to Thailand to train soonish I was just wondering if there’s other stuff I could do to protect my self from getting skin infections in the first place. (3 days out of the week was 2 hours clinching total so a lot contact with other people). Also I did wear a shirt while clinching after first skin infection, but just ended up getting a skin infection on my face only lol
