Where should I cut for chop and prop?

I’m new to chop and propping. This monstera is too heavy and keeps falling over. Where would be best to chop and prop? I know it needs a node, so I assume the aerial roots are fine as is?

What are my next steps after chopping? Just place the stem with roots in water and wait for the stem / stalk to start growing roots until there’s enough to plant? Or do I need to cut any lower leaves on the stem off first? How much water? How do I ensure it doesn’t rot?
