Self employed - how long should maternity leave be?

Hi I am hoping for some advice! I’m pregnant with my first child, due beginning of May. Last year I switched careers and began freelancing, which thankfully has been keeping me in a pretty good position all this time. Then I got pregnant, and I quickly realized there are 0 maternity leave options for someone self employed. Since I have never had a baby before, I have no idea how much time I should allow myself to take off after he is born. Some more info: depending on my projects, I typically work 15-25 hours per week, while my husband works 40 hours a week. We live with my in-laws but they work as well. My mother is coming to help me for about 3 weeks after baby is born, but after that I am essentially on my own with the baby in the day. I cannot afford to take a long time off as I am paying down debt. Hoping any freelance or self employed moms can weigh in on how they did this!
