Ordered ignition coils off Amazon - probably a mistake
2008 RAV 4 owner here. Car ran great until a month ago. Check engine light comes on.
Took it to my car guy he put it on the scanner and tells me I need a tune up including replacing the ignition coils. He suggests getting them off Amazon since they’d be cheaper and I needed them quick.
My GF has Amazon Prime so I get the coils in 3 days. My car guy puts them on, things seem fine then the same problem comes up. He scans again, and the engine is still misfiring in two of the five coils.
He puts on two that he has in his shop. Things are fine for a day before my car starts sputtering and shaking again. Check engine light is back on.
Should I order some new coils? If so where’s the best place to get them? Or could this be a deeper problem with my engine?
