Hill starts

Hey I’m 15 and learning manual and I know the basics and how to get the car moving and change gears and stuff like that but the thing that I can’t get is hill starts so when I do it I have my handbrake up and get the clutch the bite point and then I release the handbrake giving it more revs but I keep stalling so I’m wondering if i should give it some revs before I release the handbrake at like maybe like 1000-1500?
