Is Dancer's Lament a good starting point?
Hello,
I read Gardens of the Moon recently and I wasn't a huge fan of it. I felt like there wasn't enough payoff within the book for the amount of work I was required to do to follow its story. But I don't want to give up on the series just yet.
I've heard Ian C. Esslemont's books are a bit more narratively streamlined and I was wondering if I could read Dancer's Lament next? Or does it have major spoilers for the main 10 Malazan books that are better experienced within those 10 books?
It wouldn't technically be a starting point for the series since I have some context from GotM and I know it's about two characters that are present there, but does Dancer's Lament work as a beginning to the story?
Thank you!
