Bougainvillea was mid AF!!!
The painful part of Bougainville was that it was so predictable. Royce is already shown to be gaslighting and manipulating Reethu, the clues were always there. The amnesia pills could have been used creatively. I really thought he was giving her the wrong medication just to keep her sick. "Munchausen by Proxy" syndrome plot device could have been used (like in "Sharp Objects" HBO show).
The dogs were there for no reason. CCTV was installed but the thief once found was not pursued and no complaint was filed. They gave a reason, yes but especially the incident happened at a time when a girl was missing and nationwide PR outrage was there because of high profile issue and Reethu was linked to it. So it makes no sense.
there's no real surprise for the audience during the final reveal.
In a storyline where all characters are grey, a character that's shown as too good always ends up being the culprit. It's an old plot device. Amal Neerad decided to settle for mid. That's all. That's the only explanation.
