10.5 month - RONB Update
It’s hard to believe that it has been about 7 and a half months since my last update. I ended up making 3 purchases since my last update. 2 are RONB and one was a planned purchase I treated myself to.
There were 2 mini eyeshadow palettes on clearance in May. I told myself over a year ago that if they ever reached X price, I would let myself buy them. I don’t regret the purchase - I use these mini palettes a lot, especially for travel. And I’m already seeing dips in the pans.
I did a declutter 2 months ago - got rid of all my expired products and any products I haven’t used. Eyeshadow is my weakness and it was difficult to let any of it go, but I got rid of the most eyeshadow palettes I’ve ever did in my life (at one time). All of my eyeshadow now fits tidy in half of a drawer instead of a drawer and a half. I’m seeing little dents and pits start to form in the pans of the palettes I use the most often.
It is so nice to have a smaller collection and actually see progress in the makeup I own. I can rotate my makeup every day and be able to use every item in my collection within a week or 2. In the past, it would take so long to get to a product because of the size of my collection.
I’m starting to notice some powder products start to not perform as well. This is a bit unfortunate because I really like them, but at the same time it’s a great reminder that eventually everything expires and I really don’t need products in excess. I can happily use items up until they are empty and expired, and there will always be some product I want to try and will satisfy what I want to bring into my collection.
The cost of makeup nowadays give me a price shock whenever I made a purchase, especially drugstore makeup. It really is a demotivates me since one of my goals this year was to spend less on makeup. I’ve also been less than impressed about some higher end products I brought into my collection. The products have rave reviews and seem innovative, but the performance felt very mid to me.
I’m hoping to keep the RONB/low buy up and hopefully be able to share some pans or empties in the future.
