methylation and dopamine

I'm a bit confused about the link between the two. From what I read, methylation is involved in breaking down dopamine through the COMT pathway, but it doesn't seem to be involved in dopamine production from tyrosine.

However, when people talk about undermethylators and overmethylators, they associate undermethylators with low dopamine. Shouldn't it be the opposite then?
