Albion Online is Shit
Imagine you’re playing a pay to win MMORPG named Albion. Imagine you’ve sank over 100$ dollars into the game. Then imagine you get chat banned for 176 YEARS. Let me explain. In Albion online there are a bunch of different rideable mounts. The most expensive mount is called a Mammoth and they are SUPERR hard to get and come by. Now imagine you’re a newer player and you’re just chilling in chat, just talking away when you notice the chat starting to talk about mammoths. Everyone in the chat is chilling and goofing off so you decide to join in on the fun. Everyone’s cracking jokes and then you see someone begging for silver in the chat, and another player says he’s super rich. You think it’s funny to say, “I’ll sell you a mammoth for $69,420.”now context, it’s against TOS to make third party trades. Now there are a few key factors here we need to consider. 1. As a new player the odds of me actually owning a Mammoth are somewhere in the .000001s area. 2. Even if I did own a Mammoth, the number 69,420 is obviously a joke. 3. Chat context. Everyone else was joking around spitting out 69s and 420s in the chat
Now then we get to the good part. That was the first wrong thing I’ve ever done in that game. Hell I hadn’t even stolen someone’s quarry in game before much less break any real rules. Apparently a first strike offense will chat ban you for 176 YEARS. I’ve tried appealing this so many times but they are adamant that I was correctly punished for my horrible crime.
Am I the bad guy for making a joke? Should I have been chat banned for 176 years as my first strike and after spending over 100$ of real money on the game?
