President Elect Trump: You are the President of All America. Including L.A.

So, whether you got more votes than your opponent here or not, helping an American city in crisis is your job. It's not political. It's what presidents do. Right now, it's Los Angeles. Tomorrow it might be Memphis, Tennessee. The next day, Houston. Or it might be Cincinnati. Or Boise. The point is--your job is not to get even with voters who chose someone else. Your job, and as I am one of your bosses--I get to tell you what your job is--your job is to do everything you can to help Los Angeles succeed and to rebuild it. Because, like many American cities, Los Angeles is a financial and cultural contributor to the health and welfare of the United States. Los Angeles County has one of the busiest ports in the world. The port of Long Beach handles over $200 billion per year in cargo. The entertainment industry, whether you like it or not, contributes massively to the U.S. economy. Los Angeles has a critical aerospace concern. So, beyond the lives of the millions of Americans that call Los Angeles home--your bosses--Los Angeles is a big, significant chunk of the overall economic health of the nation.

Your job is to help us to get past the crisis and recover. It should be a day one priority for your administration. It's what presidents do. It's why we have hotly contested elections to hire an American to serve us all. Well. You won. It does not matter if I voted for you or not or whether I approve of you or not. The fires in Los Angeles go well-beyond that. What happened (and what is still happening) here is no different than an earthquake or a hurricane. Your job is to throw the support of the Federal government to one of our cities that is experiencing a natural disaster.

You want more people to vote for you in California and Los Angeles? Stop talking shit about this city and spreading unhelpful, untrue gossip and get ready to do your job. Instantly and with optimism. You want votes? Act like a president.
