Would it be possible to convert my 04 LC climate control to an 01-02 manual style climate control?

I've been looking around here and ih8mud and I've seen different answers, so I figured I'd ask. I really hate the navigation system because the climate controls are through the menu screen, I miss having knobs lol. I figure if I replace the whole thing I can just put an aftermarket radio for that year. But I could be completely wrong, and everywhere I've looked has been inconclusive. Is this as stupid as I think it probably is?
