Corners

So I know Tak got made into a real game, and it's beautiful. Love it.

On my first read, I thought Corners was just bridge. But there are a few things that don't add up, at least from how I felt the game works.

Do we have confirmation on this? Is Corners fictional, inspired by a real game or actually a real game?
