Canada (ONT) residence, how did you get your scleral lenses covered?

Looking to get scleral lenses however I don’t wanna pay the full amount out-of-pocket. I’ve reached out to my primary and secondary insurances with estimates to see how much coverage would be however, I’m anticipating that I won’t be covered much.

That said I have heard in the from different people that they had to get a doctor’s letter and submit that to the insurance company and got it covered.

I’d like to hear from anyone who’s gotten any type of coverage through their insurance in Ontario for these types of lenses, which insurance company they are with and how much was the total for their lenses.
