Study Abroad Traveller

I’m traveling to Kenya to study abroad for the next 3-4 months starting at the end of January and I’m super stressed out. I’ve read horror stories of getting through the airport and having to pay fines for luggage and im freaking out. I’m a single female traveler flying alone, so does anyone have any tips? Also generally some fun things to do? I’ll be staying in Kisumu, and I’m super excited to get there I’m just really worried about the airport.
