How is Yitzhak Shamir viewed in Israel today?

Shamir was a controversial character, mainly for his affiliation with the Lehi. However, I believe that as a ruler, Shamir was one of the best prime ministers Israel ever had. He was a patriot who was devoted to the Jewish people. It’s a shame Bibi has tarnished the reputation of Likud.

I’d like to know some of your opinions of him.
