California fires question.
A friend of mine lost a home in Malibu. Only an acquaintance and didn’t want to ask him about insurance. I’m guessing from what I have read insurance won’t cover his 5 million dollar home that is no longer there.
If it cant be proven that the fires were started by lightning, could an insurance company still deny claims giving a blanket statement“wildfires are a natural disaster” even if there was no evidence the fire was started by lightning?
Edit: this was truly not a trolling post at all. I was just curious to see how many people are going to be able to recover from this. My thoughts were about wondering if standard policies cover acts of god or what even differentiates that from a broken circuit or a home electrical fire. Wondered if most people will be covered. One thing I learned about policies is that it’s important to have insurance that will help you rebuild to current building codes.
