Caught Instacart stealing. Class action lawsuit?
Today I caught Instacart stealing money from me. I did a batch from Costco which had a good amount of heavy items and I was surprised after Delivery to see that I did not get heavy pay. I went into the batch details to see what happened and luckily, we are able to see on every single batch what items are eligible in which items are not eligible for heavy pay. Any item is eligible to be on the heavy pay list. Instacart takes that list and adds the weights together and everything equals 50 pounds or more we get heavy pay for that batch.
When looking at the list, there were only a few items listed on the eligible heavy pay items those three items equal to about 38 pounds therefore I did not qualify for heavy pay supposedly.
Well, when looking at the non-eligible pay items which would be items under 8 pounds I immediately spotted two items that are well over the 8 pound limit and should’ve been on the list.
The biggest item was the 18 pack of alkaline water which are 1 L bottles . lol. It is very easy to get on and figure out the math to easily see that 18 bottles that are 1 L each definitely way more than 8 pounds. Also, the big box of Rico baby wipes is more than 8 pounds. The alkaline water really pissed me off because that is over 30 pounds but yet this item is listed under the non-item eligible list as it was under 8 pounds. This is clearly a mistake on Instacart’s part. Their system is making mistakes and we are paying for it. If the system had counted that water correctly, I would’ve been well over the 50 pound limit for all the total heavy pay items. I contacted Support and they did nothing.
This prompted me to start looking into other batches that I also did today and I quickly found more items from a previous Costco batch that also should have been on the heavy pay list because they definitely weighed more than 8 pounds . As you can see in the pictures instacart included the toilet paper on the heavy pay list, but not the paper towels on the heavy list. The paper towels are definitely more than 8 pounds. Once again, another item that should have been on the list, but was not on there therefore it did not count towards the total. And yes, I know that batch did pay because they had enough heavy items on the list for me to qualify, but the point is I’m still seeing a ton of items on all of my batches that are not on the heavy list when they should be.
It’s happening to me. It’s happening to others and I’m wondering how many millions of dollars have been stolen from us by doing this. ?
I’m done with this bullshit. I’m going to do something about it and I’m reaching out to law firms on Monday. I’m compiling a list of firms that have handled class action lawsuits against gig companies and I’m going to see if they would be interested in representing me in a class action lawsuit.
Clearly, Instacart is not going to do anything about it and they are going to continue to steal from their shoppers and someone needs to stop them .
I highly suggest all fellow shoppers go check your batches every single one of them and go look at that heavy pay and non-heavy pay list and I guarantee you you’re gonna find items that you know damn well over 8 pounds and they are not on the list . The easiest ones are like cases of water more than 8 pounds but they are still on the non-heavy pay list as if they are under 8 pounds.
