Announcement : new mods , new rules upcoming, new day

Folks

Please welcome new mods ...

/u/Usual-Ad-4986 : the return of the mod. Represents the 3rd mod the sub ever had, from back in June 2019.

/u/125_mm_smoothbore : mod of /r/indianNavy who has also been active here.

/u/ITS_TRIPS_DAWG : many of you may remember him from over in /r/WarplanePorn and some presence here, there etc.

We had many excellent applicants, in fact, one could easily have added more. However, I think it is better to start smaller and adjust/add as need be. So those who put in nominations or endorsed - please continue to participate, we may still need your help. Especially if the checques don't clear/submarines/dancing girls don't show up. In the meantime, we continue to need your goodwill and participation.

And for others who didn't nominate for mod, we need your energy and contributions too. Many of you gave some good ideas

I'd also like to ping the new mods and /u/harshcasper in case they want to say something

It will take some time to settle in, and some time to figure out changes and what it will take to do them, automation etc. Please bear with us and help provide feedback, suggestions etc at appropriate time. Especially if there are issues on mod changes , learning, etc. Even if you feel something weird or odd is happening

One item : For tagging mods, since we have multiple mods now, request you not just tag me, as it may be faster to tag multiple mods or even report/modmail etc.

2nd item : Going forward, please desist from use of words like pakis, kanglus, chinks. As reddit is a global platform, these can be taken as racism, including by visitors and by reddit platform admins. Besides, we can all make our points and express our sentiments without this, which is more professional

3rd item : We have an Experimental Top Sticky Post - Like a Meta Thread. This will have few rules relaxed. You may use it for posting comments , links etc of foreign items, general discussion, unstructured chat with mods or others tagged, memes on non-Sunday, ideas etc. (I suggest we stay away from some topics like politics etc as it may lead to more conflict and trigger which may go outside the rules). It is an experiment, not just in guaging interest & usage but also what rules or implementation might go with it.. Some of you may remember monthly stickies on this sub from earlier.

4th item : Any volunteers/articles/submissions for our sub wiki ? We haven't had updates or topics for some time . eg Good sources are always changing, maybe we need to augment info on tejas etc
