[IWantOut] 32M Indonesian Biomed Scientist -> Netherlands/Australia/Japan/Nordics/Switzerland

Hello everyone,

I'm a 32YO Indonesian currently finishing my Biomed Sci doctorate at a university in one of the EU countries (THES ranking >400). My contract has just ended and I'm just left with writing up my thesis plus a viva, but I won't be graduating until this September at the earliest.

I had a 3-month internship in the Netherlands during my study, which was a positive experience. Basically, I've been on the hunt for a position in biotech / non-academic research, with a priority on the countries above in the hope that I can settle down for good. I can communicate in English and Indonesian without problems, I get by with Japanese quite all right, though I need to polish up my Dutch. I'm aware that tough is a gross understatement when it comes to finding work in the EU, let alone Switzerland, for non-EU nationals.

I'd just like to get feedback on what options are available for these countries, and I'm also open to suggestions on other countries that I should consider. Alternatively, do you reckon it's worth getting a Master's degree in these countries to put a foot in the job market?

Thank you
