Has anyone here had an average AMH/AFC but slow response/high med doses?

Has anyone here had a normal AMH or average AFC but been slow to respond to stims and needed high medicine doses? Did you have an okay result? Was there a reason you responded slowly? Can 450 IU of gonal negatively affect egg quality?

My AMH is slightly high for my age (34, AMH was around 5 last time tested) and in my last retrieval I got 23 eggs. Based on this information, I would think that I should respond well to medicines and not need a very high dose, but both times I've been slow to respond and my RE has had to keep upping my doses.

My last cycle I started at 150 gonal, 75 menopur and ended up at 300 gonal by the end. This time I started at 75 menopur/300 gonal. But now (day 12 of stims) I'm upping it to 450 for a couple more days. I'm worried about the high dose negatively affecting my egg quality.

I'm not sure why I'm such a slow responder and need such a high dose of medicine. The only thing I can think of is that I'm on a double dose of birth control for 3-4 weeks before retrieval and maybe it is over-suppressing me a bit.
