Psychology ERQ two different approaches

So for my psychology ERQ we had a question about the influence of emotion on cognitive processes. So it was flashbulb memory, but I chose Brown and Kulik and Kulkofsky as my studies. The thing is while Kulkofsky is about flashbulb memory, it's a sociocultural study.

So is it okay to use studies from different approaches that talk about similar topics?
