2017 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.3L engine failure
Our 2017 Santa Fe experienced a catastrophic engine failure last week at 103k miles. My wife was driving the SUV when she lost power. There were no check engine lights or any warning signs from the car beforehand. We kept up on all the maintenance and regular oil changes. The local Hyundai dealership told us the car had experienced rod bearing wear that led to the catastrophic failure. The knock sensor was supposed to create a check engine light or put the car in safe mode before failure happened, neither happened.
Has anyone had luck getting Hyundai to cover issues like this?
