Pitch recognition software / tools - any good? Advice sought.

We cannot get outside in the winter here and our indoor cage options are both limited and expensive. We want to work on pitch recognition and keep his timing from degrading during the offseason. 13U player.

I have found a couple options for software that tries to teach hitters to pick up the pitch quickly from the pitcher's hand. This supposedly helps 1) help make better swing decisions, i.e. ball or strike, and 2) pick up pitch type especially spin.

Is the VR stuff any good? Seems gimmicky and is also super expensive.
Has anyone ever used this type of software? Do you recommend? I have also seen the "seam reader" app looks interesting.

Thanks in advance for any/all help!
