Is there any downside to a middle carport?
We're looking at garage designs and really like the idea of a garage like this for a few reasons. Carport provides additional covered parking without the cost of an additional garage door, etc. Allows a separate workshop space on one side (left side) which doesn't really need a garage door and can be heated separate from the rest of the structure. And perhaps most importantly ...the carport doubles as a covered outdoor space for garage parties.
But I'm wondering if there is any downside such as drainage or other issues that could arise. Location is the northeast US, so we do get plenty of weather.
