Beginner Tips?

Hi everyone! I was gifted the game as it's on sale for the Switch right now, is there any guides/tips you have that helped you? What are the most important things to remember/do? I want to start with my house first and then do all the others, what house do you recommend for a 2nd, 3rd or 4th playthrough? Thanks so much in advance, hoping to start playing tomorrow!
