is Ovid a blasphemer against the greek gods?

this may be more suited for a history-based sub, or maybe r/GreekMythology, but I thought i’d try here first, since sub might give a response from a different angle

I know very little about Ovid, but what I do know is that he was incredibly hateful toward the gods and apparently used them to critique Rome. one of his famous myths was Athena punishing Medusa, portraying her as an unreasonable goddess when her very domain suggests she isn’t. she’s an intellectual, intelligence, wisdom and understanding is what she represents. he’s essentially insulting her despite the fact she has saved women from rape and assault numerous times

would that be blasphemy? it may be a more Christian term, but I hope my point got across

if this is a question for a different sub, let me know and i’ll ask it there. thank you🫶🏻

EDIT: these responses have been really helpful and articulate, I appreciate it a bunch😽
