’It is fine to wash the vulva, but it's generally best to use an unscented, unperfumed cleanser, as the skin is delicate. Don't use soap - it is a specific chemical used for removing oils. Skin needs oils to stay healthy and supple, so using soap in the vulva can dry it out and disrupt the pH. The most common soap is 'sodium stearate, so look in the ingredients list to avoid it.
Some extremely unnecessary cleaning products that you absolutely do not need to use.
The makers of these products are either ignorant of how vaginas work, or their only priority is profiting off shame and stigma. You cannot 'restore virginity' with soap, your vulva doesn't need lightening and your vagina is not unclean.
There is one time when you might want to use a douche: when you have had a vaginoplasty. These types of vaginas aren't as self-cleaning. This is something you should discuss with your surgeon to learn more, because how you care for your vagina will depend on the surgery you had.’
