TORS surgery

So I had TORS surgery on last Tuesday 12/10 to remove cancer off my base of tongue/linguil tonsils. Dr was unable to get clear margins so now I will need radiation. I am now 9 days post op but the pain is horrible. My tongue is completely numb and slightly swollen which doesn’t help. But the pain is on my right side when I swallow and into my right ear. The ear pain is crazy! I am 54 y/o and was told it would suck the older you are. Anyone been through this and how much longer with the pain? Will I be turning a corner soon? I’m so hungry.
